Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Your house by James Bishop was sold in the POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART Paris, Evening Sale (Including CONSORTIUM: 40 YEARS) auction at Christies in Paris in June 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 87,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Bishop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work For Viola Farber, which sold at auction in October 2017 for EUR 295,500.00.

Die Arbeit Your house von James Bishop wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART Paris, Evening Sale (Including CONSORTIUM: 40 YEARS) bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 87.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von James Bishop mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit For Viola Farber beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für EUR 295.500,00 versteigert wurde.
