Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work A Wooded Landscape With Figures By A Lake by Jean Jacques Rousseau for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,474.15). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Jacques Rousseau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Botanique, Paris, 1821, with additional watercolour illustrations, the Hoe copy in May last year with an auction result of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 47,432.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Figures By A Lake von Jean Jacques Rousseau für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.474,15) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Jacques Rousseau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Botanique, Paris, 1821, with additional watercolour illustrations, the Hoe copy im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 47.432,64).
