Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Bengal tigers in an savannah landscape, with a man in a tree by Jacques-Laurent Agasse was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 30,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 362,500.00 (€ 435,118.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques-Laurent Agasse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dash, a setter in a wooded landscape, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 825,250.00 (€ 947,097.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two Bengal tigers in an savannah landscape, with a man in a tree von Jacques-Laurent Agasse kam im Juni 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 30.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 362.500,00 (€ 435.118,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacques-Laurent Agasse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dash, a setter in a wooded landscape beobachtet, die im Juli 2011 für GBP 825.250,00 (€ 947.097,83) versteigert wurde.
