Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price

The work Giraffes with impala in a landscape by Jacques-Laurent Agasse was worth GBP 254,500.00 (€ 302,401.06) to a buyer in July 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques-Laurent Agasse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dash, a setter in a wooded landscape, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 825,250.00 (€ 947,097.83).

Die Arbeit Giraffes with impala in a landscape von Jacques-Laurent Agasse war einem Käufer im Juli 2016 GBP 254.500,00 (€ 302.401,06) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacques-Laurent Agasse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dash, a setter in a wooded landscape beobachtet, die im Juli 2011 für GBP 825.250,00 (€ 947.097,83) versteigert wurde.
