Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures, which included the work Portrait Of A Gentleman by Jacques-Joseph Lecurieux. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,029.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques-Joseph Lecurieux - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Shower Of Phenomenal Sheep, which sold at auction in June 2018 for EUR 8,125.00.

Im November 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman von Jacques-Joseph Lecurieux zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 3.029,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacques-Joseph Lecurieux mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Shower Of Phenomenal Sheep beobachtet, die im Juni 2018 für EUR 8.125,00 versteigert wurde.
