Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Près Du Lac by Jacques Godefroy de Tonnancour. The price achieved of CAD 19,200.00 (€ 14,345.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacques Godefroy de Tonnancour have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Black Spruce Country in May 2011 with an auction result of CAD 106,000.00 (€ 76,108.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Près Du Lac von Jacques Godefroy de Tonnancour zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 19.200,00 (€ 14.345,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques Godefroy de Tonnancour auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Black Spruce Country im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 106.000,00 (€ 76.108,24).
