The price achieved of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,373.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacques-Antoine Vallin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Love Guiding Two Lovers To The Temple Of Hymen in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 102,000.00 (€ 78,473.61).
