In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings and Sculpture: Part II, which included the work Portrait Of A Young Lady In Classical Dress by Jacques-Antoine Vallin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,286.98), 43% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jacques-Antoine Vallin have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 102,000.00 (€ 78,473.61) in January 2007 for the work Love Guiding Two Lovers To The Temple Of Hymen.
