The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,753.74) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacopo Confortini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jeune Homme Vu De Dos Portant Une Cape in November 2015 with an auction result of EUR 12,350.00.

Die Arbeit Samson slaying the Philistines with the Jawbone of an Ass von Jacopo Confortini wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.753,74) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00.
