The work Samson slaying the Philistines with the Jawbone of an Ass by Jacopo Confortini was sold in the Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2016. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,753.74) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacopo Confortini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jeune Homme Vu De Dos Portant Une Cape in November 2015 with an auction result of EUR 12,350.00.

Die Arbeit Samson slaying the Philistines with the Jawbone of an Ass von Jacopo Confortini wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.753,74) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacopo Confortini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jeune Homme Vu De Dos Portant Une Cape im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.350,00.
