Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures, which included the work A Dutch interior with two sisters by Jacobus Frederik Sterre de Jong. The price achieved of EUR 1,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacobus Frederik Sterre de Jong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'A Happy Family', which sold at auction in March 2007 for EUR 2,280.00.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden.
