Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Trompe-l'oeils: partridges (Perdix perdix) and pigeons (Columba livia) suspended by ropes attached to nails, with flies on plaster partitions by Jacobus Biltius was sold in the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2001. It changed hands for a price of NLG 47,000.00 (€ 22,641.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of NLG 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacobus Biltius - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Trompe L'Oeil Still Life With Two Quails, A Kingfisher, A Bird Net And A Whistle, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 61,250.00 (€ 71,049.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Trompe-l'oeils: partridges (Perdix perdix) and pigeons (Columba livia) suspended by ropes attached to nails, with flies on plaster partitions von Jacobus Biltius wurde im Mai 2001 in der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von NLG 47.000,00 (€ 22.641,16) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von NLG 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacobus Biltius mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Trompe L'Oeil Still Life With Two Quails, A Kingfisher, A Bird Net And A Whistle beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für GBP 61.250,00 (€ 71.049,82) versteigert wurde.
