Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Partridge Suspended From A Nail, A Starling, A Trap And Whistle In A Stone Niche by Jacobus Biltius was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacobus Biltius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Trompe L'Oeil Still Life With Two Quails, A Kingfisher, A Bird Net And A Whistle in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 71,049.82).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Trompe L'Oeil Still Life With Two Quails, A Kingfisher, A Bird Net And A Whistle im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 61.250,00 (€ 71.049,82).
