Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacob Willemsz. de Wet could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny auction, the work The Queen Of Sheba Before King Salomon changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,830.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacob Willemsz. de Wet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Joseph Vendant Du Blé En Egypte in September 2021 with an auction result of EUR 20,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacob Willemsz. de Wet konnte im Januar 2012 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny wechselte die Arbeit The Queen Of Sheba Before King Salomon für USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.830,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob Willemsz. de Wet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Joseph Vendant Du Blé En Egypte im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.800,00.
