Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Diana the Huntress by Jacob Matham was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,170.00 (€ 5,758.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob Matham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jupiter and Danaë in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 29,375.00 (€ 31,558.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Diana the Huntress von Jacob Matham kam im Januar 2004 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.170,00 (€ 5.758,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob Matham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jupiter and Danaë im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 29.375,00 (€ 31.558,87).
