This price was achieved in the auction Old Master PrintsAn Important Private Collection at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 500.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Matham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jupiter and Danaë in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 29,375.00 (€ 31,558.87).
