The work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Said To Be Cornet George Joyce by Jacob Huysmans was sold in the Old Master & Early British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in October 2009. The auction ended at the price of GBP 7,000.00 (€ 7,817.89), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Huysmans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of John Wilmot, 2Nd Earl Of Rochester (1647–1680) in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 602,500.00 (€ 759,941.93).
