Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Saint John The Baptist Preaching by Jacob Andries Beschey was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,552.98). Other works by Jacob Andries Beschey have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2010 by the work Maria Magdalene washing the feet of Christ at EUR 12,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Saint John The Baptist Preaching von Jacob Andries Beschey im Juli 2012 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.552,98) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Jacob Andries Beschey wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April 2010 die Arbeit Maria Magdalene washing the feet of Christ mit EUR 12.500,00.
