This work of art by Jacob Adriaensz. Bellevois could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work Sailing vessels in distress near a rocky coast changed hands for EUR 9,850.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Adriaensz. Bellevois - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Smallships, a threemaster and a pink on a river by a jetty in a stiff breeze, a town in the distance, which sold at auction in May 2001 for NLG 76,375.00 (€ 36,791.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
