In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work Southern Ireland, British Railways by Jack Merriott. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,656.06), 32% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jack Merriott have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,510.12) in May 2004 for the work Southern Ireland.

Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE IRISH SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Southern Ireland, British Railways von Jack Merriott zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.656,06) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Jack Merriott haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.673,00 (€ 2.510,12) im Mai 2004 für die Arbeit Southern Ireland beobachtet.
