In October 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work Elegant figures on the promenade, Seacombe; and Painting the boat's hull by John Joseph Bellman. The auction ended at the price of GBP 600.00 (€ 861.64), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Joseph Bellman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunlight beach, which sold at auction in August 2007 for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,838.27).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Elegant figures on the promenade, Seacombe; and Painting the boat's hull von John Joseph Bellman zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 600,00 (€ 861,64) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Joseph Bellman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunlight beach beobachtet, die im August 2007 für GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.838,27) versteigert wurde.
