Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in London held the auction RUSSIAN PICTURES, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady Thought To Be Pauline Viardot by Ivan Nikolaevich Kramskoi. The price achieved of GBP 17,925.00 (€ 25,785.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ivan Nikolaevich Kramskoi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Admiral Login Loginovich Heyden, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 45,410.00 (€ 65,322.04).
