Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Emperor Jinmu by Itō Hikozō was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Bonhams in New York in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 1,042.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Itō Hikozō have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Older Wife's Revenge in May this year with an auction result of GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,642.56).
