In the DECORATIVE, SPORTING AND TOPGRAPHICAL PRINTS auction, the work Differentes veues Fontains, Cascades, du Canaux et Chasteau et des Jardins Parterres de Liencourt and Livre de Diverses veues, Perspectives, Paysages faits au naturel, par Israel Silvestre sold for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,807.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by Israël Silvestre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Duomo and Campanile, Florence in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,469.53).
