In November 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIraqi Masterpieces from the Jawdat, Madhloom and Selim Collections, which included the work Untitled (Nine Faces) by Ismail Fattah. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 24,000.00 (€ 28,178.26), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ismail Fattah have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in October 2015 with an auction result of USD 173,000.00 (€ 156,674.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIraqi Masterpieces from the Jawdat, Madhloom and Selim Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Nine Faces) von Ismail Fattah zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 24.000,00 (€ 28.178,26) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ismail Fattah auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 173.000,00 (€ 156.674,52).
