Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head of a dancer, study for Orpheus, in the Opera de Paris by Isidore-Alexandre-Augustin Pils was sold in the Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session II auction at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. The price achieved of EUR 1,890.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isidore-Alexandre-Augustin Pils achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Large Oil Study for La fête donnée à LL. MM. l'Empereur et l'Impératrice, à Alger, le 19 septembre 1860 in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 75,158.54).

Die Arbeit Head of a dancer, study for Orpheus, in the Opera de Paris von Isidore-Alexandre-Augustin Pils wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session II bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.890,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isidore-Alexandre-Augustin Pils erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Large Oil Study for La fête donnée à LL.
