Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A man holding an overturned wine glass in an interior with two servants kissing in a doorway beyond (Het leege wijnglas) by Isaac Koedijck was sold in the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction at Christies in London in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 59,132.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaac Koedijck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Man In An Interior Holding A Glass, Two Servants Kissing In A Doorway Beyond, which sold at auction in February 2013 for USD 194,500.00 (€ 148,711.68).
