Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work No More Voices by Idris Khan was auctioned at Phillips in London in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 35,280.00 (€ 41,797.27). Admittedly, works by Idris Khan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work (I) Every... Bernd And Hilla Becher Prison Type Gasholders (Ii) Every... Bernd And Hilla Becher Spherical Type Gasholders (Iii) Every... Bernd And Hilla Becher Gable Side Houses in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 181,250.00 (€ 225,352.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit No More Voices von Idris Khan im Oktober 2021 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 35.280,00 (€ 41.797,27) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Idris Khan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit (I) Every... Bernd And Hilla Becher Prison Type Gasholders (Ii) Every... Bernd And Hilla Becher Spherical Type Gasholders (Iii) Every...
