The artist is also known as: Ida Bagus Poegoeg (Pugug), Ida Bagus Pegoeg and Ida Bagus Poegig. He was a pupil of Ida Bagus Nyoman Geria, who can be acclaimed as the first artist working in a style we now recognise as the style of the Sanur group of painters. He was also influenced by Ida Bagus Nyoman Klingking (better known as Ida Bagus Nyoman Rai) and Ida Bagus Soenia, who was also his spiritual leader. Like Klingking, he is associated with the 'household' of Theo Meier. When he became priest pedanda Gede Simpar of Ketewel, he moved away from Sanur and stopped working as an artist. Bateson & Mead collected sixteen works by the artist. The artist was a member of the Pita Maha artists' association.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2001 Christies in Singapore held the auction PRE-WAR BALINESE MODERNISTS: 1928-1942, which included the work Farmers and Buffaloes by Ida Bagus Made Poegoeg. The price achieved of SGD 7,050.00 (€ 4,384.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as SGD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Other works by Ida Bagus Made Poegoeg have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2001 the work Birth Ritual was auctioned for SGD 7,637.50 (€ 4,750.04).

Im September 2001 führte Christies in Singapur die Auktion PRE-WAR BALINESE MODERNISTS: 1928-1942 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Farmers and Buffaloes von Ida Bagus Made Poegoeg zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von SGD 7.050,00 (€ 4.384,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit SGD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Ida Bagus Made Poegoeg konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2001 die Arbeit Birth Ritual für SGD 7.637,50 (€ 4.750,04) versteigert.
