Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings, which included the work The potato pickers by Hugh Collins. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,075.50 (€ 1,609.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Hugh Collins have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2005 the work Portrait of a mother and child, seated three-quarter-length, the mother in a black dress with lace trimming, her daughter by her side was auctioned for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,088.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The potato pickers von Hugh Collins zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.075,50 (€ 1.609,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Hugh Collins konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2005 die Arbeit Portrait of a mother and child, seated three-quarter-length, the mother in a black dress with lace trimming, her daughter by her side für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.088,71) versteigert.
