This artwork by Hubert Vos achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. In the The Art of Hawaiʻi auction, the work A Portrait of a Serimpi Dancer, thought to be a Princess of Yogyakarta sold for USD 20,480.00 (€ 18,894.73) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hubert Vos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gifts From Empress Cixi I in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 667,000.00 (€ 77,085.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hubert Vos erzielte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Art of Hawaiʻi wurde die Arbeit A Portrait of a Serimpi Dancer, thought to be a Princess of Yogyakarta für USD 20.480,00 (€ 18.894,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hubert Vos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gifts From Empress Cixi I im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 667.000,00 (€ 77.085,65).
