Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Herding Donkey by Huang Zhou was worth HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 218,694.63) to a buyer in December this year. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Huang Zhou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Xinjiang Dance, which sold at auction in October 2014 for HKD 4,840,000.00 (€ 498,292.10).

Die Arbeit Herding Donkey von Huang Zhou war einem Käufer im Dezember diesen Jahres HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 218.694,63) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Huang Zhou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Xinjiang Dance beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für HKD 4.840.000,00 (€ 498.292,10) versteigert wurde.
