This artwork by Huang Zhou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Cologne in May this year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Donkey Family sold for HKD 277,200.00 (€ 33,225.49) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huang Zhou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Xinjiang Dance in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 4,840,000.00 (€ 498,292.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Huang Zhou erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Köln einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Donkey Family für HKD 277.200,00 (€ 33.225,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Huang Zhou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Xinjiang Dance im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.840.000,00 (€ 498.292,10).
