“I made some good friends when small and we always tease each other. Few years ago,they started mocking me that I had to create 100 paintings as a price to pay. To me,such an unproductive artist,creating 100 paintings is an unreachable goal. As you imagine,it takes me 2 months to complete one work. How long would I take if I start to paint them separately? From 2007 – 2015,I finished 100 pieces of works in 9-year time. The quantity doesn’t sound that terrific if you give a second thought,however,these paintings took up all of my reflection time in the last 9 years.”

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sketching Easel (Painted In 2015) by Huang Yishan was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in November 2016. The price achieved of HKD 118,000.00 (€ 14,379.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Huang Yishan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Theory Of Cloud (Painted In 2019), which sold at auction in October 2021 for HKD 420,000.00 (€ 46,719.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sketching Easel (Painted In 2015) von Huang Yishan kam im November 2016 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 118.000,00 (€ 14.379,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Huang Yishan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Theory Of Cloud (Painted In 2019) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für HKD 420.000,00 (€ 46.719,18) versteigert wurde.
