Despite a disappointment, a good price for Huang Xi
When the work Visiting the Jianmen Pass by Huang Xi was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 3,187.50 (€ 354.57). Despite this disappointing result, Visiting the Jianmen Pass is the most expensive artwork by Huang Xi that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Huang Xi
Als die Arbeit Visiting the Jianmen Pass von Huang Xi im Oktober 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 3.187,50 (€ 354,57) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Visiting the Jianmen Pass das teuerste Kunstwerk von Huang Xi, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
