Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Rabbit by Huang Tu-Shui was worth HKD 150,000.00 (€ 15,442.94) to a buyer in October 2014. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century Chinese Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Huang Tu-Shui; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Buffalos sold at auction in April 2016 with the realized price of HKD 237,500.00 (€ 26,757.93).
