Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Squirrel by Hua Yan. The price achieved of HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 196,220.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hua Yan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Birds and Flowers in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 19,140,000.00 (€ 1,988,430.75).
