In May 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Scholars Resting By The Stream by Hua Yan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 112,500.00 (€ 11,892.12), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hua Yan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Birds and Flowers in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 19,140,000.00 (€ 1,988,430.75).

Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scholars Resting By The Stream von Hua Yan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 11.892,12) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hua Yan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Birds and Flowers im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 19.140.000,00 (€ 1.988.430,75).
