In September 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal, which included the work Gazing Off Into The Distance At The River by Hu Zongren. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,850.02), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hu Zongren - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape after Ni Zan, which sold at auction in November 2017 for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 22,878.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im September 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gazing Off Into The Distance At The River von Hu Zongren zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.850,02) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hu Zongren mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape after Ni Zan beobachtet, die im November 2017 für HKD 212.500,00 (€ 22.878,85) versteigert wurde.
