Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script by Hu Linyi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,754.17). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hu Linyi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script, which sold at auction in March 2016 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,093.06).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script von Hu Linyi im März 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 5.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.754,17) mehr als viermal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Hu Linyi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script beobachtet, die im März 2016 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 46.093,06) versteigert wurde.
