In February 2002 Christies in New York held the auction House Sale, which included the work The Escaped Prisoner by Horatio Henry Couldery. The price achieved of USD 5,640.00 (€ 6,514.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Horatio Henry Couldery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Exemplary behavior in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 26,941.59).
