In July last year Sothebys in London held the auction Japan: Art and Its Essence, which included the work A study of ‘Katia Reading' by Hisaji Hara. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,717.72), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hisaji Hara - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Six inkjet prints from After Balthus, which sold at auction in July last year for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 12,037.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Japan: Art and Its Essence durch, in der auch die Arbeit A study of ‘Katia Reading' von Hisaji Hara zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.717,72) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hisaji Hara mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Six inkjet prints from After Balthus beobachtet, die im Juli letzten Jahres für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 12.037,31) versteigert wurde.
