Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Hanaharu by Hiroyuki Aoyama was worth HKD 211,500.00 (€ 17,412.05) to a buyer in May 2008. This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 65,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hiroyuki Aoyama; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sakura sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 319,500.00 (€ 26,303.31).
