Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,516.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hippolyte Jean-Baptiste Garneray - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vue Présumée D'Un Port Du Pays De Caux, which sold at auction in March 2017 for EUR 9,100.00.
