Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Trentham Park, Staffordshire by Hilton Lark Pratt was sold in the Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures including Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in November 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,231.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hilton Lark Pratt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trimmed and spurred fighting cocks, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,739.59).
