Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Weight Lifter by Hilda Steckel was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 558.19). Other works by Hilda Steckel have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2012 by the work Two Acrobats at USD 1,125.00 (€ 861.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Weight Lifter von Hilda Steckel im Februar 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 625,00 (€ 558,19) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Hilda Steckel wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Januar 2012 die Arbeit Two Acrobats mit USD 1.125,00 (€ 861,87).
