Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An extensive landscape with the Preaching of Saint John the Baptist and the Baptism of Christ by Herri met de Bles was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 87,953.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herri met de Bles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A siege at Thérouanne, with an army led by Charles V encamped below the city in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 1,049,250.00 (€ 1,183,590.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An extensive landscape with the Preaching of Saint John the Baptist and the Baptism of Christ von Herri met de Bles kam im Juli 2021 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 87.953,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herri met de Bles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A siege at Thérouanne, with an army led by Charles V encamped below the city im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.049.250,00 (€ 1.183.590,90).
