In September 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX, which included the work Cows by a willow tree by Herman Charles Christiaan Bogman. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 940.00 31% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Herman Charles Christiaan Bogman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A polder landscape with cows near the water, which sold at auction in March 2001 for NLG 4,700.00 (€ 2,176.84).
