Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fulham Palace by Henry William Burgess was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 537.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry William Burgess - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sixteen Continental views including: The Castella d'Uova, Naples (illustrated); The village of Simplon, Switzerland; Toeplitz, Bohemia; St. Bartholomé, Bavaria; Salzburg, Austria; Vienna, Austria; The Capitol from Colonna Gardens; The Palace of the, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,643
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Fulham Palace von Henry William Burgess im Oktober 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 360,00 (€ 537,87) den Besitzer.
