The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,942.60) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Somm - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elégantes au chapeau, which sold at auction in January 2006 for EUR 8,400.00.

Die Arbeit French Women Of Fashion: Two Works von Henry Somm wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.942,60) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Somm mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elégantes au chapeau beobachtet, die im Januar 2006 für EUR 8.400,00 versteigert wurde.
