Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still life of carnations in a white jug by Henry Raeburn Dobson was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 264.00 (€ 381.36). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Raeburn Dobson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work At the spinning wheel, which sold at auction in September 2005 for GBP 660.00 (€ 968.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still life of carnations in a white jug von Henry Raeburn Dobson im Januar 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 264,00 (€ 381,36) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Raeburn Dobson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit At the spinning wheel beobachtet, die im September 2005 für GBP 660,00 (€ 968,60) versteigert wurde.
